In just a few short days, it's time to say goodbye to our students and another school year. We hope you found the summer newsletter helpful for suggestions on how to help your students keep learning and reviewing. The letter was sent home in your student's work folder the week of May 26.

Summer is one everyone's mind, but we are still busy making our last school days count. We continue our prayer project with new requests for the month. Ask your student to share with you his/her current prayer request.

We wish you each a happy, healthy, relaxing summer!

MATH NEWS

THIRD GRADE
We are reviewing basic operations and learning some new things about fractions and decimals. We will be testing for end of the year mastery in multiplication facts and other concepts taught throughout the year. Please help your student keep those fact families for division and multiplication in use over the summer break. They are easily forgotten if not used for awhile!


FOURTH GRADE -
We'll complete our year with more work in dividing with two digit divisors. Please help your student keep using the sequence of multi-step multiplication and division problems over vacation time. It will be a big help to them when they start fifth grade. A little practice goes a long ways!

READING

FOURTH GRADERS - We will work on some English skills of using adverbs, and keep improving our work in editing, proofreading and using proper capitalization and punctuation

THIRD GRADERS - Students are using some of their social studies materials and textbook for an introduction to economics. We're reading the material together and enjoying some stories related to the topic. See if your student can tell what is an entreprenuer.

SECOND GRADERS - We are enjoying the progress made by our students. They have become much more independent readers, writers, and workers!


Please encourage your students to find books of interest and READ, READ, READ during the summer months.

There's no better way to become a better reader than by spending time with good books!
