**How To Presentations***
Now it is your turn to be the teacher and teach the class something that you are interested in. You are to type up the materials needed and instructions/directions on how to complete whatever task you are teaching us. Your instructions must be in complete sentences. Examples that have been done in the past: how to bake brownies or cookies, how to make a smoothie, how to do a skateboard trick, how to transplant a flower, how to give your dog a bath, etc.

**Book Report: HISTORICAL FICTION BOOK**
Due Wed, May 28th.
Make a book box about your book! You will need:
a shoebox
colored construction paper (available in the classroom)
crayons, markers, paint, colored pencils
glue
pebbles, twigs, etc., small items for your scene
Directions:
1. Line the inside of the box with light-colored construction paper. Use crayons, colored pencils or marker, etc. to add details for a background scene.
2. Cover the outside of the box with light-colored construction paper.
3. Write the title, author, genre of the book, your name, and due date on top of the box. Use your neatest writing. Include an illustration of you would like.
4. Write a summary of the book on the left side of the box. Your summary needs to be typed in a font size no larger than 14. Make sure to include the theme of the story, time period, main events, the problem and solution!
5. Draw and label characters on the back of the box. Describe each character using a minimum of 2 words.
6. Use pebbles, twigs, or small items to build a three-dimensional scene relating to the book. Glue them in or secure them in place if possible.

Mrs. Ditta's Class:
We will conclude studying "Plant Diversity" Ch. 2 this week. Ch. 2 Test scheduled for next Tues., May 20th. You will receive a study guide this Friday.
**Design Your Own Flower due Fri., May 16th - On an 8 1/2" X 11" White piece of paper, create your own flower, labeling each of the flower parts in black sharpie. Color using crayons or colored pencils. Mount on colored piece of 9" X 12" construction paper (in my supply cabinet). Remember this is your own design, Be Creative!
Social Studies: We will begin studying Ch. 18 in our social studies text “Newcomers Help Build the Nation”.

*Please remember to keep you notebook up to date as we will continue our "Notebook Pop-Quizzes" this quarter. You should make sure to label each lesson with the date, lesson number, lesson title and ALL steps provided for each skill. Also, make sure to complete all 5-min checks with not only the answer, but the problem as well.
