June 1-5, 2009

Quarter 4 Academic end this Friday, June 5th.

Academic Awards are this Thursday @ 10:15-11:45.
Later, at 1:30-3:15 we have our Air Band/ Talent Show! All families are welcome to come!

Book Assessment: This week we will be assessing all text books for possible damage that goes beyond normal use. Make sure all students have all of their text books at school each day during this week. It will be helpful if students unfold "Dog-eared" corners in their books. Thanks!

Bible

This week's scripture: No memory verse this week.

WED: Bible Comprehensive Test on Lessons 31-33. You will get to use your own lessons during the test.
BIBLE LESSON 34: Done in class

Please keep your graded lessons once they are returned to you. You will need them as study guides or as notes for comprehensive tests given after every third lesson. You may only have your own lessons as notes if the Bible Comp. Test is "Open Notes."

BIBLE JOURNALING: Usually Tues. or Wed. mornings.
I will be collecting journals this week. (Probably Wed.)Make sure your Journals are up to date.

Language Arts

Writing:
We are continuing a Creative Writing assignment this week, which will be due Wed. Students will write a fictional story or a narrative (retelling of one of their own experiences). Keep your Story Sketch and written Rough Draft to turn in as well. 2 COPIES NEEDED OD STORY.

English:
Modifiers Review Test is Monday.
Modifiers Test is Tuesday.
DOL: 35 due Fri.

No spelling assignments this week.

Social Studies/ Science

Social Studies: Ch.9 Section 3 & 4
Mon: Review notes on section 9-3.
Tues: Read & Work on study notes for Section 9-4.
Wed: Review Notes together for Sections 9-3 & 9-4
Thur: Daily Geo 35 due
Fri: Turn in Ch. 9 notes.
Take Quizzes 9-3 & 9-4 which will count as a test. (20 questions)

SCIENCE:
MON: Complete Nitrogen Cycle Illustrations
TUE: Read & discuss Section 23-2
WED: Planet Earth Video: Jungles
THUR: No Science due to Talent Show
FRI: Science Party: Bring Goodies and we'll watch our last Planet Eart Video.

Math

Mon: Mid-Ch 8 Practice Test
Hmwk: Study for Mid-Ch. 8 Test
Tues: Mid-Ch. 8 Test
Wed: 8-6 Study Guide
Hmwk: Complete 8-6 Practice
Thur: No class today
Hmwk: Get homework packet put together in order.
Fri: Collect Week's work & 8-7 Study Guide
Also, sign up to bring goodies on Mon. for MATH Party!!!

All homework will be turned in on FRIDAYS, unless we have no class on that Friday. Make sure all assignments have your name and class letter on them. Staple them IN ORDER with the homework slip in front.
