Keeping Your Kids Minds Sharp Over Summer Vacation

Summer is in full swing, but it won’t be long until it’s time for kids to go back to school. Whether building better study habits for the new school year or reviewing lessons from last year, parents need to keep those little learners sharp over summer vacation. Some parents might argue that summer is a time for kids to take a break. But children really do need to study over the summer.

With Summer Studying Kids Will:

  • Be ready to go when school starts. A child’s mind and body need the healing respite of the summer’s warmth. But studies show that when children take an extended break from learning, they often require a longer start-up period at the beginning of the school year.
  • Better retain what they learned last year. Keeping your children’s minds and bodies active during the summer ensures they will maintain the knowledge learned in the previous year.
  • Be more confident in their academic abilities. Educators also caution that students who haven’t kept up on scholastic skills acquired in the previous school year can lose self-confidence, which impedes their future learning.
