Yearly math Goals for the 4th grade

 

  • Recognize the place-value of numbers through millions.
  • Know addition  facts and be able to work and check addition problems with carrying.
  • Know subtraction facts and be able to work and check subtraction problems with borrowing.
  • Know 0-12 multiplication tables and be able to work multiplication problems with carrying. Multiplication problems may have up to three digits in the second factor.
  • Know 1-12 division tables and be able to work and check division problems. Division problems may have up to two digits in the divisor. It may be necessary to use estimation when finding the quotient.
  • Know terminology of four processes.
  • Solve story problems.
  • Average numbers.
  • Estimate answers.
  • Know English and metric measures.
  • Convert measures and solve measurement equations.
  • Know Roman numerals 1-1,000
  • Know fraction terminology and how to solve problems containing fractions. Add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers with a common or uncommon denominator.
